Sama arrived in Brazil at the end of 2022. She is Palestinian and came with her husband and two daughters looking for a place to build a future for their family. They arrived here without knowing our culture, our language and without having any idea what the next few months would be like in a new country.
Throughout the year she spent with us, she actively participated in the Portuguese classes offered by AIRE. Today, even with Arabic as her native language, she can communicate very well with Brazilians.
She also participated in courses offered by Casa da Economia Solidária, a partnership between AIRE and an organization from the city of Diadema that helps people in vulnerable situations to undertake businesses.
Now her time with us comes to an end. She received our support at the beginning in Brazil and is ready to start another stage of her life here. She has been going through a particularly challenging time, due to the difficult situation her country is facing in. Seeing friends and family suffer has been overwhelming and despite leaving AIRE, the family will continue to count on our support and prayers. From now on, they dream of building a future for the next generations, a little different from what they initially planned, but full of hope.
